Description: Gabe Maharjan is an actor and playwright based in Tio'tia:ke/Montreal. They're an alumnus of the Dome and the Black Theatre Workshop’s Artist Mentorship Program in the actor’s stream. They participated in Playwrights’ Workshop Montreal’s Young Creators Unit and Teesri Duniya’s Fireworks Program, where they developed Eva in Rio, a new play. They are a founder of Playground Productions Montreal.
Gabe is a Tiohtiá:ke-based actor, writer, translator, director and dramaturg who works across Canada and internationally. Growing up, they participated in performance workshops at The Black Theatre Workshop and the MSOPA where they developed a love for storytelling.
You can catch them in Mattias Graham’s new short film, Bleach , and they recently performed at the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe Festival . Gabe’s voice can also be heard on Netflix and Ubisoft projects. The Geordie Theatre premiere of Gabe’s From the Stars in the Sky to the Fish in the Sea received eight Montreal English Theatre Award nominations, including Outstanding New Text and Production.
