Friends of Hockey was formed in 2009 to provide assistance to families who could not otherwise place their children in minor hockey. Upon inception of the FOH organization, the National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA) agreed to fund 25 sets of new equipment each year through its Goals & Dreams program. On January 22nd 2023 at 2pm the Elmira Sugar Kings are hosting their annual charity game versus the Listowel Cyclones! Friends of Hockey is very proud to partner with Bauer Homes (Charity Game Jersey Sponsors) and the Elmira Sugar Kings as this year's beneficiary of the jersey auction proceeds.
Friends of Hockey hosts an annual equipment swap mid-January and mid-August at the Annual Woolwich Fall Program & Sports Info Night that takes place at the Woolwich Memorial Centre. Each year, FOH has a great selection of new and used hockey equipment available for all ages and sizes. Bring your gently used equipment and swamp for the right-sized equipment for the upcoming season.
