He shows a very versatile profile with a strong commitment with contemporary music and the composers of the current generation, but also including in his work the most renowned works of the traditional saxophone repertoire as well as transcriptions from the baroque to the romantic period. The free improvisation is also a very significant side of his personality as an artist. Guided by the renowned percussionist and improviser Lucas Niggli, Ferran has developed his own musical language for the improvisation.
Ferran Gorrea is an active musician also in the field of chamber music. He has been part of many ensembles such as the Zurich Saxophone Collective, 2.13 SAX, D’Addario Saxophone Ensemble, Slapsus Quartet or Sigma Project Ensemble among others.
