T he stories we tell our children have never been more important. Fairy Tales Retold takes old classics and gives them a modern twist for today’s world. The original characters and spirit of each story remain - but the imagery, narrative, and values are subtly different. Gone are damsels in distress, homogenous characters and patriarchal messages; replaced by exciting adventures, and some inspiring characters!
For all their magic and wonder, sometimes our original fairytales can fall short. At their worst, they can reinforce negative stereotypes and prejudices from centuries ago.
We're trying to change this.
