Hello squad! Well, it has been almost 3 months since my hip surgery (core decompression) and things seem to be going well. I have been kicking butt at physical therapy and in the gym. Hip pain has decreased and I am continuing to gain strength in my leg. I still have a slight limp when I walk but hopefully with time and strength-training it can be corrected.
I am now gearing up for surgery number two. On Wednesday 11/20/2019, I will be having a shoulder hemiarthroplasty (partial shoulder replacement). My upper bone in the arm (humerus) will be replaced with a prosthetic metal implant, and the other half of the shoulder joint (glenoid or socket) is left intact. The avascular necrosis in my right shoulder has continued to worsen leading to the replacement. After surgery, I will be staying the night at the hospital and then returning home Thursday. Although I continue to face obstacles, there is so much to be grateful for again this year. God continues to bless me with wonderful and supportive family and friends, brilliant medical professionals, and being cancer free. I thank God for all of his blessings and continue to seek guidance and wisdom. Thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers. Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy turkey, pie, and all the fixins!
