Walking under the ancient olive trees, or through the organic vegetable garden and looking out over the serene estate vineyards that surround the weathered stone winery building to the mountains beyond, it’s easy to understand what drew Bernard Ehlers to this part of the world in the late 1800s and the Leducqs a century later. And it’s easy to see the allure that draws our guests today.
The 2022 Ehlers Estate Sauvignon Blanc is a pale-yellow wine with super intense aromas of peach, citrus, grapefruit, honeydew melon, vanilla, and white flowers. Mouthfeel is pleasantly velvety despite the tart acidity in the long finish. Freshly cut grass, lemon tart, orange candy, and lime zest, with some tropical peachy finish. Great mouthfeel and complexity, but vibrant acidity.
