This article provides an exposition of techniques for considering reductions of GHG emissions, based on using centibels , a little-known concept for quantifying change.
These alternative techniques, illustrated here through various examples, complement rather than replace the more familiar ones. They provide another perspective on a range of emissions-reduction problems which makes them more straightforward to reason about , in particular by enabling new types of visualizations .
