I present information on my paternal name of EBLEN and my maternal name of CAUGHELL . It turns out they both have some interesting history and immigrated to America as early as 1723.
Both families have lived in America for many generations. My paternal side ‘Eblen’ immigrated from Germany around 1722 and my maternal side ‘Caughell’ around 1760. I believe the Caughells came from Scotland, but I do not have documentation of that fact. Both sides arrived in this country prior to the American Revolution and spread across the country to the Pacific as the country expanded. Both sides can be considered ‘pioneer’ families.
Through time and the marriages there are many nationalities in our DNA. Among them are English, Irish, Scottish, German, Dutch, French, Swiss, Swedish, and some Jewish that I know of.
