I'm Derek Mueller, Professor of Rhetoric and Writing at Virginia Tech. Broadly, I work on projects concerned with writing, rhetorics, and technologies. Specifically, I am drawn to questions concerning research methods and methodologies; visual rhetorics, imagetext, and illustration; theories and practices of composition, and accounts of disciplinary formation and maturation, especially in relation to rhetoric and composition. Try This: Research Methods for Writers is an open access textbook co-authored with Kate Pantelides and Jen Clary-Lemon. The volume was released online in January 2022 from WAC Clearinghouse/UP of Colorado.
Radiant Figures: Visual Rhetorics in Everyday Administrative Contexts is an open access collection co-edited with Logan Bearden and Rachel Gramer. The collection was published in September 2021 by CCDP/Utah State UP.
