I am very sad to report the death of another important personality in the DeMerchant family genealogy and history search. Arthur John DeMerchant was one of the first ones to share and discover our collective roots. He held picnics at his camp on the Monquart River for years and many knew him well. He was a personal inspiration for me and I enjoyed the time I spent talking with him. He was gracious enough to loan me a picture to put on the cover of my book and was always a gentlemen.
