About Me - Kobby Panford-Quainoo
I am a Machine Learning researcher, currently pursuing a PhD at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) with Prof. Pierre Vandergheynst . My main research interest is the modeling, analysis, and understanding of structured data. Data structured by networks, such as brain activity supported by neural connections, or manifolds, such as the temperature and wind fields on the Earth. Before the PhD, I obtained a MSc in Electrical Engineering from EPFL with a minor in Computational Neuroscience. During that time, I was a research assistant at LTS2 as well as a software engineer at Infoteam . Before that I obtained a BSc in Electronic Engineering from the engineering school of Fribourg after a thesis at the Physics Department of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and an ERASMUS in Munich, Germany. Besides scientific research, I play brass band music at the Brass Band Fribourg and my town's band . Some recordings can be found on YouTube . I enjoy to read, some of which is on Goodreads , and to travel. I'm certainly too enthusiastic about computers.
