Created in 1988, the Curve Lake Cultural Centre is a source of knowledge dedicated to keeping traditions and ceremonies alive within the community. The Cultural Centre is a place to immerse yourself in the history and culture of our people, the Michi Saagiig Anishnaabeg. We welcome visitors looking to learn about a unique way of life, and community members that want to build upon and reaffirm their own cultural awareness.
Preserving the language of the Michi Saagiig Anishnaabeg is essential to our cultural heritage. Curve Lake boasts a high percentage of the population who are fluent in Anishnaabemowin, and in particular, the Michi Saagiig dialect. Our culture thrives from passing down and teaching our language to community members.
