Dr. Cosmin G. Chiorean is Professor (Full) of Structural Engineering at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (TUCN) ,Department of Structural Mechanic s, Romania.
He graduated Faculty of Civil Engineering from TUCN (Civil Engineer i ng section) in 1995 with MSc in Structural Engineering in 1996 and also Mathematics and Comput er Science from Babes-Bolyai in 1999. In 2001 he got his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from Tech nical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania and since 2009 is Full Professor of Structural Engineering at TUCN . He spent two years (2002-2004) as a postdoctoral researcher at New University of Lisbon, Faculty of Science and Technology, Lisbon, Portug
Prof. Chiorean's research interests focus on improving the computati onal methods for design of civil structures, industrial buildings and bridges . His research includes both computational and experimental techniques with emphasis on the development and application of advanced numerical methods to solve problems relevant to structural and geotechnical engineering.
