MACAULEY / MCCAULEY CLANS OF IRELAND
A gathering of the clan has in recent times been held every four years in Newmarket, County Cork, once the heart of the MacAuliffe clan lands. The Gathering was scheduled for 2020 but because of the Covid pandemic it was postponed twice and was eventually held on 24 – 26 June 2022. To restore the original cycle there are provisional plans to hold the next Gathering in 2024.
Variations of the MacAuliffe Name
There have been many translations of the clan name from the original Irish Gaelic Mac Amhlaoibh. For convenience on this site I use the original translation MacAuliffe or the abbreviated version McAuliffe which is the most common but in doing so I hope that those who have a different spelling of the name do not feel excluded. However we spell our name we are all MacAmhlaoibh and all are welcome. Below is a list of known variants of the name. If you know of others please let me know.
