Dr. Spak earned a BA in history from Rice University in 1994. Prior to medical school he spent a year at Wirtschaftsuniversitaet Wien in Vienna, Austria where he studied German. He graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1999, and he completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School Parkland Memorial Hospital in 2002.
