In 2020 Garden Route Motorcycles came on board as Main Sponsor and Johann van Tonder, previous event media liaison, became co-coordinator with the view to take over from Hennie Lowe as he planned to emigrate. Johann van Tonder (Trailrider Media Events) became sole owner and organizer in 2021 and it was decided to expand the motorcycling events in the Southern Cape.
The focus was on smaller events and challenges that local riders could do in their own time, keeping them busy and looking forward to some great prizes all year. And while the Cape Adventure Bike Challenge is very much focused on Adventure Bikes, the other challenges and events included all bike types. The aim of the events and challenges were to get bikers to do what bikers love most: get out there and ride. Four new challenges were born: Hardegat, a 1000km run to be completed in 12 hours. The Cape Adventure Bike Challenge of 2022 took on a whole new form. Still 4 days, still very challenging, but no fixed date. 25 Passes in 4 days! CABC 2022 is open for a year, until end Sept 2023 when CABC 2023 will be announced. Our Challenges take bikers to places and venues right in our own back yard that they might not even have known about. The prizes are nothing to sniff at either and include everything from biking related products to chopper flips and all expenses paid weekends away.
