Burt County is well positioned halfway between Omaha, Nebraska and Sioux City, Iowa in eastern Nebraska. It offers the advantages of rural living with easy access to the metro workforce and amenities. Burt County Economic Development Corporation controls a 157-acre industrial site that borders the main line of Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad. The location is superb – a rural location but only twenty-five miles to Interstate 29.
Some of the best waterfowl hunting in the US can be found in Burt County, which is on the migratory bird path. The Missouri River, which borders the county on the eastern edge, provides plenty of recreational opportunities, as does the Summit Lake, a 190-acre spring-fed lake.
The five communities in Burt County each host an authentic small town festival each summer. Watching out for your neighbor and taking pride in your community are still a part of everyday life.
