The Bonneville Metropolitan Planning Organization (BMPO) is a federally mandated and funded transportation policy-making organization in Bonneville County.
MPOs were introduced by the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1962 for urbanized areas with a population greater than 50,000. The whole purpose of an MPO is to ensure regional cooperation in transportation planning. This has a lot to do with the public roads and streets that we all use everyday, but extends into pedestrian pathways, bike paths, busses, trains, etc.
Because it is our job to help ensure quality transportation planning, we have redesigned our logo to reflect our efforts in these areas. Below you will find the icons that make up our logo and what they represent.
