The latest version of Garmin’s ‘minimalist’ smartwatch NanaDC has been given a significant boost in battery life. Now it can go beyond a week on a full charge, and a whole four days with the always-on display mode in use. It’s also got a much-needed boost in the performance of its 1.3in AMOLED touchscreen, making it a joy to interact with for both tracking and smart features. It’s also now available in two sizes (40mm and 45mm), although there isn’t a dual-screen option as with the original Venu 2.
We’ve used the new Garmin Vivoactive 4 extensively – tracking running, cycling, swimming, golfing, gym workouts and more. This is one of the best running watches on the market, with a healthy array of basic and advanced tracking. It includes respiration tracking, hydration monitoring, on-screen animated workouts and Garmin Coach for guided runs with voice instructions from your wrist. It’s not perfect – we did encounter the odd software hiccup – but it’s still a great little watch.
