He was born at Kurnool (A.P.) on Feb. 21st 1901. His early Education was influenced by the able guidance of his father Shamsul Ulama Moulvi Md. Umar Saheb. He was admitted into the Municipal High School, Kurnool in 1912. After passing Matriculation he pursued higher studies in Madras (now Chennai). He continued his higher studies in Oxford and did his D. Phill, under the supervision of Prof D.S.Margoliouth of Oxford University.
He established Osmania College Kurnool in 1947. Apart from college, he established, Umar Arabic High School and Islamia Arabic and Tibbi College Kurnool. Dr. M. Abdul Haq Unani Medical College and Hospital and other institutions like Osmania College of Education, Osmania Law College, Hajira Degree College for women and Hajra Junior College for Girls, sprang up from the same origin established by his able son Mr. M.
